1300s–1400s

Madhava lived around A.D. 1215–1350. Apart from being recognized as a spiritual preceptor, it is said that from 1333 until 1350 he was a minister of Vijayanagar, the city he founded. Prior to his initiation and sannyasa, he was known as Vishnu Shastri. Madhava wrote a commentary on the Parashara Smriti called Parashara Madhva-vijaya.
